The key competitiveness issues the region must tackle
There are six critical issues which the region must tackle to enable it to bring these strengths together and convert them into a world-leading position:
- Collapsing demarcation lines between industries
- The challenge of extracting value from creative content
- Protection and exploitation of intellectual property
- The development of new business models
- The skills implications of a multi channel, multi platform content world
- The dearth of growth finance
SEMN will achieve this by providing a strategic focus for the region's digital content sector by:
- Analysing global market trends and their implications for the region's businesses
- Leading the region's response to those trends and implications
- Identifying new business opportunities for South East companies and facilitating the collaborations needed to exploit them
- Providing a gateway to make it easier for businesses to find the support they need to exploit new business opportunities
- Being the 'ambassador' for the South East's digital content sector
